Sitting on our vintage spring rockers under a fan while sipping a cool beverage and watching the sun set on the lake will be our MO after work for the next few months. Paul is obsessed with the rockers—we own a number of them and also sell them in the stores.
These are on our back porch and are Paul’s personal favorites.
We have a total of eight of these and love them all. Our house overlooks a lake, and this is our special cocktail hour place to sit and watch the sun set.
We also enjoy mixing it up with old wicker pieces.
We hope you love spending time in your outdoor space as much as we do!

We hit the road to head to Ohio for the Springfield Antique Show & Flea Market held May 18-20. This is one of the largest antique shows, and the energy level and competition for good deals was fierce. We’re happy to say we found great treasures for our customers!
Take a look at some of the pictures we snapped at the event, and be sure to try to guess what the treasure is…
We made it!
It’s the U.S.’s largest antique mall.
There’s never a shortage of eats at these shows. These grill masters are famous for their 2-inch pork chops and huge chicken breasts.
Can you guess what this find is?
Here’s a clue: It’s electric and made of many MOVING parts.

Birds are big in home décor right now. Not only were birds the Trend Alert in Elle Decor’s May issue, but they were also highlighted in the Spring 2012 Market Style Report from the High Point Furniture Market.
If you’re a fan of this avian design trend, you’ll be happy to hear that Paul Michael Company has a number of offerings featuring birds. Take a look…
These colorful throw pillows can add the perfect spring touch to a sofa or guest bed. If you love cooking or baking, look at this sweet apron with a bird on it. It would look adorable hanging on a hook in the kitchen when you’re not wearing it.

Things are reaching new creative heights in Paul’s World. His latest creation is an adirondack chair made of—drum roll, please—vintage snow skis from around the world!
These chairs are so cool, and being repurposed from something old into something functional and new, they’re green as well. The skis come from different vintages and countries, making the chairs as unique as can be.
They’re perfect for spending a relaxing day or evening out on the patio, sipping sweet tea or enjoying the latest bestseller.
The unlikely switch from cold-weather accoutrement to warm-weather furniture makes them even more unexpected and the perfect conversation starter.

Farm-to-table cuisine has become increasingly popular, and we think it’s a wonderful trend. As Garden Design wrote in a 2011 article, “farm-to-table has become the ultimate food trend of the year.” Though it’s now 2012, the trend doesn’t seem to be disappearing.
Garden Design was referring to “restaurants with gardens,” but we can also think about farm-to-table a little closer to home. For people who grow edible eats in their own yards, entertaining guests while offering fresh food is a fabulous option.
House Beautiful notes Harvest to Heat: Cooking with America’s Best Chefs, Farmers, and Artisans as a farm-to-table cookbook of choice.
At Paul Michael Company, we offer herb garden markers perfect for your garden at home. A Facebook fan shared the photo above with us, showing a Thyme marker from Paul Michael Company’s Lake Village location in her own herb garden.

Grey has been gaining popularity lately as a neutral of choice. In fact, you may have heard magazines, bloggers or interior designers say, “grey is the new beige,” and we certainly think this soft mix of black and white is a beautiful tone in home design.
If you’re loving the trend but not ready to commit to it with paint on the walls, think about adding grey to your décor via accessories like pillows and rugs.
This slate grey jute basket weave rug comes in a number of different sizes to suit different rooms and spaces.
A grey pillow or two on the guest bed will show visitors you’re definitely in style!
Or if you want to bring the neutral front and center, check out our post on decorating the sofa with throw pillows.
